Bulk Vessel Inspections Questionnaire is a standardized basis for assessing and reporting on the physical condition, operation and safety performance of bulk carriers. This to provide ship operators and crews a document, which highlights deficiencies, including detainable port state control areas and recommended areas of improvement, to assist them with maintaining and improving their safety standards on board to a higher level.
Bulk Vessel Inspections are carried out by an independent, objective Inspector and include verification of statutory documentation, international safety management system and a general examination of the vessel’s structure, machinery and equipment, as well as a more thorough inspection and / or operational testing of fire fighting equipment, life saving appliances and safety equipment.
